Overview

Join us for an intimate musical night filled with geets, ghazals and chayee. Enrich your soul with melodies sung by the local artists. The event will feature performances followed by an intimate heart to heart story telling sessions where the audience will sit in random groups and pour their ghams and lighten their hearts. We aim to provide a safe space for the community to talk about their lives and find a ray of hope to keep moving forward.

Guest Performers:

1- Areeba Pirzada
A writer and voice over artist from Sindh currently enrolled in BS in English Literature. She aspires to be a filmmaker and tells the stories that wander around.

2- Zohaib Alam
A folk singer at heart who is a poet and an author who has command over Urdu and Punjabi languages. He has served as an editor for “The Ravi, literary Magazine” and presided GCU Debating Society.

3- Waqas Majeeb
Founder & director of a social enterprise named ناؤ دیپ that works for the provision of education through the medium of arts. He completed his MPhil in Education Leadership and Management from LUMS, and he also received Shaila and Tahir Andrabi Leadership and Service Award, 2020.

4- Ahmed Bin Ilyas
A poetry and prose writer whose love for urdu poetry shows his appreciation for the beauty of Language and the power of words. He has produced several Ghazals reflecting love, longing, melancholy and a blend of other emotions. He is a person with diverse interests and talents. Ahmed’s passion for urdu poetry adds a unique and artistic dimension to his life.

5- Syed Ommer Amer
Founder of Daastan. His passion for literature gave birth to a literary platform which helped 10,000+ authors fulfil their dream of getting their work published. He is passionate about promoting local literature and artists. At times, he writes and performs spoken word.
