Overview

The course is designed to introduce and practice basics of Pakistani/Indian Music (swaras, taals, thaaths, ragas, types of music, etc.) The course is designed for young people who are interested to either play and perform or also explore their interest in music.

Music (سنگیت) is the combination of singing, playing instruments and dancing. Here, dancing doesn’t mean movements by a dancer, but it means subconscious body movements/facial expressions committed by a singer or player during performance. Art is a mean of expressing emotions and every artist needs different ways to express his/her emotions.

  • Introduction to Music, Sawara and Rhythm
  • Octaves + Raga Aimen + Teen Taal
  • Octaves + Raga Aimen + Different aspects of taals & speed + Teen Taal
  • Raga Aimen + Different aspects of taals & speed + Teen Taal

Outcomes

  • Recognition of Swaras
  • Recognition of Raga Yamen (Aimen) and singing in it.
  • Recognition of Tabla beats (ta, tin, tun, dha, dhin, gay, tit-kit) and some taals (Teen Taal, Kehrawa Taal, Dadra Taal, etc.)
  • Will become creative in life and sharp in Math.

Class Day and Time: Each Wednesday and Friday, 04:00pm to 06:00pm
Duration of the class: 2 Hours (total 16 hours course)

Amjad Ali

Amjad has been a teacher for the last 35 years; a teacher’s trainer and researcher for the last 28 years; a Yogi and a Music teacher for the last 15 years and conducting online Yoga & Meditation and Music Classes for the last 3 years. He loves to be a student even when delivering training.
