Overview
Zahid Mayo (b. 1987) moved to Lahore from rural Punjab in 2005 to study art and graduated from National College of Arts, Lahore, in 2013. Mayo is a visual story teller, an artist and a poet. Besides working on canvases he also paints on a variety of natural and man-made surfaces existing in the environment around him – trees turn into canvases, so do sections of parks, roadsides and bus stops. Through his practice he creates a dialogue not only with himself but also with the viewer on the value of collective social existence.
